We teach monthly four-week classes in a variety of dances at Sandra Cameron Dance Center. The studio is located at 199 Lafayette Street, New York, New York, 212-431-1825. Our class schedule works on four-month cycles (Fall (Sep.-Dec.), Winter (Jan.-Apr.), Summer (May-Aug.).

Wednesdays 7:30pm
This “Put it all together” class allows students to incorporate Intermediate materials they know with new ideas and steps through the learning and performance of a lindy hop rountine.

Want to dance to fast music without dying while trying? Fast, cool, and surging in popularity nationwide, the Balboa make dancing to fast music fun and fluid with mixes of close embrace partnering, flashy footwork, and slides. We will teach the Balboa, including classic Bal and Bal-Swing, in September and October.

Wednesdays 8:30pm
From September through December, we’ll teach Intermediate Savoy-Style Lindy Hop exploring classic steps handed down from Frankie Manning and Al Minns as well as other Savoy dancers. Each month features a different section of material. We offer four sections at each level, plus bonus steps. Students often repeat each level until they feel comfortable with the material.

After almost two years of teaching ’20s Charleston and Peabody together, we will teach an all-levels Peabody Intensive class solely dedicated to Peabody, one which will cover not only the basics but also more sophisticated multi-rhythmic patterns, such as the Roseland Hop, Cagney Shuffle, and Shakeaway. Each month we teach a different section of material.

After almost two year with Peabody, ’20s Charleston now has its own class. In November and December, we will teach a ’20s Charleston Intensive class that explores the basics but also steps unearthed in archival film footage, including Shorty’s Breakway, the Shuffle Along, and the Black Bottom. The class mainly covers the partner form of the Charleston, including Collegiate and Ballroom styles right up to the influence of Shorty George Snowden. Each month we teach a different section of material.

Back by popular demand. On Tuesdays at 8:30pm. Dancing to the Blues returns in September and December. Chad and Midori teach how to move to the sultry grooves of the Blues, a sensual, rhythmic partner dance that also makes for a very good work out. Not only will you discover new ways to move your body, but you’ll also discover new muscle groups.

Also back by popular demand, the Castlewalk returns in the form of a two-month routine class. In October and November, we will teach a Castlewalk routine class that teaches the steps and styling of the signature dance of ballroom’s first superstar dance couple. The class will culminate in performance.
