Lindy Hop, Charleston, Peabody & Blues! Weekend

Oh Canada! We’re really excited about the weekend of workshops that we’ll be teaching in early December in Toronto, Canada. Five dances we love. Twelve hours of classes. Social dancing galore.

Virginia State Open

We will be teaching a series of Peabody/Charleston workshops and performing the Peabody at the Virginia State Open (Nov.10-13). VSO is such a great event, and we’re glad that it’s back after a short break. VSO was my first competition, Jack n’ Jill in 1998, and one of the best dance weekends I ever had. I’m so glad to be heading back.

The Evolution of Lindy Hop

Midori and I will be giving a lecture/demonstration to a group of St. John’s University students on November 14, 2005. The lecture plus video and dance demonstration, organized by Professor Jessica Bickley, will trace the lindy hop’s evolution from early jazz dances such as the cakewalk, breakaway, and charleston into its present form.
